Youth Wellbeing Network Coordinator

 

Tri-County Restorative Justice is a not-for-profit agency serving Yarmouth, Shelburne and Digby Counties and is the proponent on behalf of the Youth Wellbeing Network of the “Roots of Wellbeing” Community Mental Health Grant.

 

We are currently seeking a motivated, well-organized individual capable of performing the duties required to support the coordination of the Youth Wellbeing Network to formalize and sustain community collaborative partnerships and engage youth. These activities include ensuring youth have access to the supports and resources needed to thrive. Through effective communication and partnership building the YWN will help create a community where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

 

We are now accepting applications for a Youth Wellbeing Coordinator

·       3-year term / 30 hours per week (flexible - as determined by programming needs, including some evenings)

·       Approximate start date: May 5, 2025

·       Starting wage: $28/hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·       Social Science degree is preferred with demonstrated experience in community development and youth engagement. Will also consider certificate in health services (or social science equivalent) with demonstrated community development experience.

·       A combination of strong communication skills, leadership abilities, project management experience, an understanding of community needs and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

·       Must have a suitable space to work from home (laptop and printer provided for the duration of employment).

·       Successful applicants will be screened through a Criminal Record Check, NS Child Abuse Registry, a Vulnerable Sectors Check and must have a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·       Program development: Create opportunities for youth, 10-25 years, that nurture resilience and support wellbeing. Establish safe spaces in community for regular drop-in (youth hubs) where youth can connect to their community, build trusting relationships and feel they belong. Develop and implement engaging youth-centric community projects across the following domains: Places and spaces, Purpose, Community, Healthy Living, Safety and Security, Relationships, Mental Wellness, Learning and Growing.

 

·       Communication and Research: Analyze data to identify community needs and concerns. Improve communication across stakeholders through asset mapping, identifying community strengths, existing gaps, and available resources. Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, adjusting strategies as needed. Maintain a community helping tree and resource guide. Develop and disseminate communication tools to help connect community resources to youth (website, helping tree, resources, QR codes)

 

·       Partnerships: Engage partners, implement network priorities, coordinate sub-committees, and sustain the work of the Youth Wellbeing Network. Establish partnerships to identify collaborative youth engagement opportunities, host engagement sessions, and build the capacity of the community to meaningfully engage youth. Support the expansion of Agenda Gap across Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties.

 

·       Project Management: Monitor project implementation, completion, impact, and results. Manage project budget. Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, adjusting strategies as needed. Supervise project staff and oversee program development.
